WHY PRIVATE AUCTIONS???

At the suggestion of many of our bidders, friends, and other sellers we have decided to conduct our sales through the Private Auction option. Ordinarily when you place a bid, your email address becomes accessible to anyone who wishes to see it. By making our auctions private, your email address is not accessible, and your privacy is protected. We have seen a number of other dealers make the decision to conduct private auctions. This has been in response to SPAM messages generated by unscrupulous dealers on Ebay which victimize the bidders (and sellers) of auctions other than their own, generally urging them to purchase their artifacts from their own web sites, and not from Ebay Auctions. They accomplish their ends by spreading rumors that most antiquities on Ebay are not genuine (to our experience the sale of counterfeit antiquities on Ebay is the exception, not the rule). In an effort to protect our bidders from these ugly rumors and unscrupulous dealers, we too have decided to use "Private Auctions", so as to protect the privacy of your email address.
